You can apply for the seasonal electronic license at least 10 days before the competition by sending an email to licence@triatlons.lv.
On the competition day, it is possible to purchase a one-day license. Price for age groups:
F17, M17, F and M up to 23 years – EUR 10

- A participant is considered registered for the competition only after the full participation fee has been received in the bank account. The participation fee is calculated based on the day it is paid, not the registration date.
- Please register for the competition in a timely manner to prepare the timing systems properly.
- The participation fee includes the participant's number, timing chip rental, support staff, supporter prizes, and hydration. In case of chip damage or loss, the penalty is 20 EUR.

- For participants who do not show up for the competition, the paid money is not refunded.
- If the competition is canceled due to force majeure (circumstances beyond the organizers' control), the participation fee is not refunded.
- The competition participant (or their representative) confirms with their signature at the registration desk before the start that they take full responsibility for their health's suitability for completing the chosen distance. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible person who signs the participant's application form.
- The competition organizers are not responsible for any injuries the participant may suffer during the competition.

Latvian Cup points are calculated according to the regulations of the 2026 season of the Latvian Triathlon Federation Cup.
Participant limit – 200 participants
Rules:
The competition is held according to the rules of the International Triathlon Union (World Triathlon) (available here), as well as international and national anti-doping regulations. All participants are required to comply with the World Anti-Doping Agency code, as well as the requirements set by the Latvian Anti-Doping Bureau. The competition organizers have the right to provide doping control if necessary according to regulations. By registering and confirming their participation in the competition, the participant fully agrees to these rules and commits to comply with them.
In the competition area and during the competition, cycling is only allowed with a helmet worn and fastened on the head. This requirement is mandatory for all competition participants, whether they are in the race or not, as well as for competition visitors. Waste may only be disposed of in the waste zones designated by the organizers. A participant may be penalized for non-compliance with this rule according to the World Triathlon Competition Rules.
Athletes from Russia and Belarus cannot participate in the competition.
PENALTY BOX (penalty serving area) – for the athlete, upon starting to run, if they have committed an offense before the running distance, they will have to serve a penalty – 10 seconds for an unfastened helmet, for not respecting the transition zone boundaries, for „throwing” equipment, etc., according to World Triathlon rules, 30 seconds – for not respecting the rules in the cycling group.
Competition judges
Judges certified by the Latvian Triathlon Federation and/or World Triathlon.
Competition jury
The competition jury is convened in case of a protest.
Relay
The team consists of 3 participants, of whom at least one is a woman. The first participant performs the swimming segment, the second – cycling, the third – running. The relay handover to the next relay participant is done by handing over the timing chip (in case of changes, additional information about the relay handover procedure to the next participant will be clarified in the transition zone).
Start zone
- The start zone is located in Jūrmala, Dzintaru beach.
- Starts from the beach.
Swimming
- The distance can be completed in the athlete's freely chosen technique without aids.
- Wetsuits are allowed if the water temperature does not exceed 21.90 degrees Celsius, except for F60; M60; F70 and M70, for which a wetsuit is allowed if the water temperature does not exceed 24.5° degrees Celsius.
Cycling
- Athletes are allowed to push or carry their bicycle during the cycling competition;
- Cycling in the slipstream of another athlete is allowed within the same gender age groups. TT bikes are prohibited, including individual parts such as aero handlebars and disc wheels. A helmet is mandatory during the entire cycling segment. The helmet must be fastened at all times while the participant is in contact with the bicycle.
- During the race, team members, coaches, and supporters are not allowed to accompany the competitors;.
- A swim cap is not allowed during the cycling segment.;
- Running.
The distance can be covered in the athlete's freely chosen technique;
- A swim cap is not allowed during the cycling segment.;
- A swim cap or cycling helmet is not allowed in the running segment;
- Running shoes are mandatory;
- Transition (change) zone
The competition has one transition zone with boxes for placing equipment after completing the segments.
- Upon entering the transition zone (check in), judges will check the athlete's start number, helmet, and bicycle before entry.
- The transition zone is designated for:
- placing swimming equipment after swimming
- placing cycling equipment before cycling
- placing cycling equipment after cycling
- placing running equipment before running
- All equipment intended for the competition must be placed outside the box before the competition.
- Towels and bags are not allowed to be placed in the transition zone.
All equipment used or intended for use in the specific segment but not used during the competition must be placed in the box. - Only competition participants, judges, and those with special permission are allowed to be and move in the competition transition zone.
- Only the competition participant may enter and exit the transition zone with their competition equipment and place it in the designated area.
- The transition zone is guarded and fenced.
- Participants must place their competition equipment in the transition zone only during the designated time. Equipment can only be removed by the participant themselves, showing their participant number or marking on their body to the competition judge.
- Equipment left in the transition zone and not removed within the specified time will be removed and placed in a specially marked area.
- Finish zone.
The finish zone is fenced and marked with a finish arch.
- A participant is considered to have finished at the moment they cross the finish line.
- Timing.
The timing of the competition with timing chips is provided by the official timing partner, the association A2.
- There will be several timing points during the competition: for swimming, cycling, running segments, and transition zones separately.
- Medical assistance.
Emergency medical assistance will be provided to participants throughout the competition.
- Lost and found items.
All items found during the competition will be delivered to the competition center. Requests for lost items should be sent to the email address
after the competition. info@baltijasmaratoni.lv Traffic and parking during the competition.
Traffic participants must follow the instructions of the organizers, judges, police officers, as well as the signs related to parking and pedestrian movement.
At the competition venue, athletes, coaches, and supporters are allowed to move by bicycle only with a fastened helmet.
Information for spectators.
We recommend all competition visitors to watch the competition from the competition center. Swimming, cycling, and running routes will be viewable from both the competition center and while moving along the competition route. Spectators must follow the instructions of judges and police officers, as well as adhere to the signs.
CHANGES TO THE COMPETITION REGULATIONS.

The organizers have the right to make changes and additions to the regulations. Keep an eye on announcements on the LTF website www.triatlons.lv, Facebook, Instagram. The organizers are not responsible for ignorance of the regulations.
PROTESTS.
Protests must be submitted in writing to the chief judge no later than 15 minutes after the provisional results are published, with a payment of a 50 Eur protest fee. In case of justified claims, the money will be refunded.
VARIOUS.
DAŽĀDI
Due to adverse weather conditions, poor water quality, or other circumstances that may endanger the safety of participants, the organizers, in collaboration with the chief judge, have the right to change the competition program, distance, cancel the swimming segment, or stop the competition.
The competition is held in accordance with the World Triathlon anti-doping regulations and the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA). Participants may be invited to undergo doping control.
Data processing
Both the competition organizer and the athlete (“Athlete – a natural person engaged in sports and participating in sports competitions”) are bound by the Sports Law, which in Article 18, Paragraph 2, specifies the duties of the athlete: “The athlete's duty, when participating in sports competitions, is to comply with the rules of international and nationally recognized sports federations, the principles of sports ethics and fair play, the rules of the anti-doping convention, as well as regulatory acts.” Furthermore, both the principles of sports ethics and fair play and Article 15.1 of the Sports Law state that any manipulation of results is prohibited and sports results must be published unaltered, which is also in the public interest. Considering the provisions of the Sports Law, the association Sportlat has a legal basis and legitimate interests in the processing of this data.
By registering for the competition, each participant consents to the processing of their personal data, based on Article 7.1 of the Personal Data Protection Law.
Personal data processing is carried out to accurately represent the results provided by the athlete in relation to the results of other participants. To determine the athlete's affiliation to the distance and group, according to the competition regulations, in addition to the data subject's name and surname, gender and date of birth are also required. To protect the data subject's personal data, the data is minimized as much as possible upon request by writing to the email: triatlons@triatlons.lv
Photography and filming will take place during the competition for marketing and advertising purposes. The organizers have the right to use photographs and video materials taken during the „Jūrmala Triathlon 2026” competition without approval from the individuals depicted. The organizers also have the right to offer participants the opportunity to download photos and videos.
